Metalspassivation

Metals Passivation

The Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU, Cat Cracker or Cat Unit) is critical to the catalytic process used by most refineries to convert heavy gasoil and resid into gasoline and distillates. Metallic impurities, such as Nickel and Vanadium, adversely impact the catalyst’s capability to produce the desired products. For many years, Nalco Water has been at the forefront of passivation research and solutions addressing these challenges.
